Advanced Homebrew Systems and Brewsculptures

Advanced Homebrew Systems

Advanced homebrew systems, sometimes called Brew Sculptures, are every homebrewer’s dream. We all start out on simple systems and either build our own upgrades or purchase systems from online merchants such as MoreBeer.com.

MoreBeer.com has some of the most advanced systems on the market today. Take a look at some of their advanced homebrew systems below:

Famous for its innovative tipping Mash Tun, the Tippy-Dump Digital BrewSculpture™ V4 allows you to easily dump spent grain after mashing.  Place a garbage can on the built-in step, tip the mashtun and you’re done… no heavy lifting or scooping necessary! Inspired by professional brewpub brewhouses, which are designed to fit in tight spaces, the mashtun is placed directly over the hot liquor tank. This not only saves space but also allows for heat coming off the hot-liquor tank to help keep the mashtun warm during the mash.

In Brew Sculpture Version 4 we have added a Tippy Disc that is welded directly to the kettle. This allows for the mashtun to be locked in when vertical and then to be rotated and locked in at different angles as you empty and clean the mashtun. The Tippy Dump system includes a built in flip-down stainless step giving you easy access to see into the mashtun.

The BrewEasy

The BrewEasy™ is a revolutionary new ultra-compact and economical all-grain brewing system. This patent pending system and process utilizes a two kettle recirculation infusion mash system called the Kettle-RIMS™ or K-RIMS™ process for short. This system is very simple to use and is a very approachable way to transition from extract to all-grain brewing. The BrewEasy™ system eliminates the need for a sparging, simplifying the process and saving time.

The BrewEasy™ provides all the simplicity and speed of a traditional no-rinse brew-in-a-bag (BIAB) system, but offers the temperature ramping capability and wort clarity of a traditional RIMS system.  By eliminating the messy and hazardous lifting of hot grains found in BIAB systems you’ll find the BrewEasy to be pure brewing pleasure.  Be sure to read through our manual (see the manual tab) to get all the details of the BrewEasy™ to see why this system may be the ticket for you

If you’re already a Blichmann Engineering BoilerMaker™ owner you’ll love the modularity of the BrewEasy.  Buy only the components you need and save money!  And the BrewEasy is the only system offered in electric and propane models!

How does it all work? This two kettle K-RIMS™ system eliminates the hot liquor tank of a traditional three tier system as well as the time consuming and somewhat complicated sparging process.  While a three tier system is still the most versatile and efficient, the BrewEasy™ offers improved efficiency over traditional no-rinse BIAB while eliminating the lifting of hot grains. The recirculation through the mash bed generates super clear wort.  And the optional BrewCommander can automate it all!

Robobrew / BrewZilla V3.1 All Grain Brewing System With Pump – 35L/9.25G from MoreBeer.com

Robobrew / BrewZilla V3.1 All Grain Brewing System
Robobrew / BrewZilla V3.1 All Grain Brewing System

If you want to jump into all grain brewing right from your first batch, or as an upgrade from malt extract brewing, the Robobrew is a complete turn key solution. The Robobrew is an all-in-one electric brewery that has built in elements for heating and boiling, programmable mash schedule and delayed start, a built in pump for recirculation, an onboard water resistant control panel for setting and monitoring temperatures, a removable grain basket, and a built in spigot for transferring. It is extremely portable and uses 110V power so it can be used nearly anywhere.

The V3.1 unit features a redesigned main circuit board with higher quality relays for improved reliability and heat resistance.

To get the Wort Chiller Connection Kit for free, add the item to your cart along with the Robobrew / BrewZilla and use code ROBOKIT at checkout.

Automatic Step Mashing & Delayed Start!
One of the coolest features of the Robobrew is the ability to program the unit with up to 6 individual temperatures and durations so you can step mash precisely how you desire. Simply press the “S1-S6” button to select the stage you want to adjust, and use the temp, time and +/- buttons to program the stage. If you have less than 6 stages in your mash schedule, program the stages you want to skip with 00:00 as the time and the controller will automatically move on to the next step. When all the stages are complete, the Robobrew will sound an alarm and hold the last set temperature.

The programmable stages can also be used to set a delayed start of up to 23 hours in advance so that you can have your water hot and ready to go when you get home from work or wake up in the morning. In order to do this, fill the unit with strike water and program the controller with two steps. Step 1 should be programmed at a temperature lower than the unheated strike water (so the elements will remain off), and the duration should be programmed for however long you want the delay. Then program Step 2 with your desired strike water temperature and a duration of 1-2 hours, giving the Robobrew ample time to heat up and giving you a margin of error in case you hit the snooze button the morning of brew day.

Great Components
The built in magnetic drive pump easily recirculates the wort during the mash. We recommend getting some silicone tubing to go with the recirculation arm. This allows you more control over the recirculation and you can then use the same tubing to transfer your wort to your fermenter.

Dual heating elements run off of a single 110 volt plug and have individual switches allowing for more control over the heating process. One element is 1000 watts and the other is 500 for a combined 1500 watts! Use both when you need to ramp up the temperature quickly either at the start to get to your mash temp or to go from your mash temp to boiling. Use only one of the elements when you want to hold a temperature.

The digital control panel makes it easy to see the current temperature and set the temperature you want. The digital controller is also water resistant so don’t worry about spills or some water dripping down the side. This controller is built for brewing!

The brewery also includes a stainless steel malt pipe with false bottom allowing you to easily shift from mash tun to boil kettle during your brew day. The malt pipe includes a handle to lift it from the RoboBrew and tabs at the base so you can set the malt pipe over the RoboBrew to let the wort drain out. It also has feet at its base to raise the malt pipe slightly off the base and help prevent clogging.

The included Robobrew stainless steel wort chiller is shipped with bare ends so you can set it up for your situation. We list below the most common tubing and fittings to connect to a hose, hose bib, or faucet.

What MoreBeer! loves about this product: Homebrewing is trending in the direction of all-in-one, all-grain brewing systems and the Robobrew is the ultimate value. The cost is half of the next comparable system with programmable mash steps and nearly the same as buying converted coolers and a kettle. We’ve brewed on all the systems and we can truly say the Robobrew is the easiest to use. We feel confident that a lot of first time brewers could buy this and use it with ease. At the same time quite a few of our experienced, all-grain brewing staff are buying it to brew at home. The unit is extremely compact because the pump is built-in to the bottom of the unit. You can move it around with ease which makes it perfect for guys and gals that have space constraints. Someone on the team also mentioned how they like that you can drain it via gravity without having to use the pump. We would choose the Robobrew model with the pump because the pump portion is really easy to use, increases efficiency, and eliminates temperature differences in the mash. All in all a great buy and highly recommended. Please note you will need a few extra pieces of hardware to connect the wort chiller and at least 2′ of silicone tubing for the sparge.

Use the Pump for More Than Just Recirculation!
One of the surprisingly handy features of the Robobrew is that the recirculation pipe features a female camlock. This allows you to hook up other accessories and use the unit’s pump for more than just recirculating wort. With a male camlock and silicone tubing, for example, you can use the internal pump to push wort through a plate chiller or counterflow chiller. Check out our selection of camlock fittings here

Note: The manual references an element for a different market.  This unit comes with two heating elements for a total of 1,500 watts.

  • Features: Stainless steel construction 9 gallon total capacity with a finished beer output of 5-6 gallons Digital temperature controller Automatic step mashing with 6 programmable stages 110V power and plug Dual heating elements for total control (1000 watts and 500 watts) Stainless steel 1/2 inch ball valve for draining (dont have to use the pump) Immersion wort chiller included Stainless steel malt pipe/basket Stamped in volume markers Glass lid Magnetic drive pump for recirculation Recirculation arm Temperature reads in °F or °C (press and hold temp button for several seconds to adjust) 32.75 in H (with recirculation arm) x 12.5 in D Recommended max. grain bill – 18 lbs Recommended min. grain bill – 8 lbs

Braumeister 10L 20L and 50L

Braumeister V2 – 50 L

The Braumeister is an all-in-one, electric all-grain advanced homebrewing system that will ship to you free of charge from MoreBeer!. Made by our long time business associate Speidel of Germany these systems are imported and supported in USA by MoreBeer!. The Braumeister features an automation and ease of use that is unparalleled in brewing all-grain beer at home. Plus we love the quality of beer produced on these machines.

New 2015 Model
On top of all the features that Braumeisters are known and loved for, 2015 has brought an update to the user interface on these units. The new control panel showcases a large LED screen, allowing for easier recipe viewing and manipulation, as well as a memory bank to actually store recipes for future brews.

Speidel has also been planning for the future with these new control panels.  Aside from immediate benefits, there is hardware to support WiFi control and other functionality that will be released as software updates to existing units.

Advantages of the Braumeister
First the system is small in footprint and powered by electricity allowing you to brew inside, in a confined space, without the fear of carbon monoxide gas from a flame source. Secondly this unit is very easy to use as you mash the grain and then boil the wort in the same vessel. We also love the automation and control. Before you brew you set the controller with the different temperatures you wish to attain (advice is given on what to set) and the built in heating element and pump do the rest. The Braumeister is especially ideal for step-mashing, which many brewers think is the preferred way to brew lager beers. Based on the results of lagers we have brewed on this machine MoreBeer! agrees.

Walking Through the Brew Process
On Brew Day you are going to assemble your Braumeister with the mash tub and bottom screen. You will fill the unit with filtered water to a notch on the center post – easy. The controller reads in °C, and you can set it to different temperatures you wish to reach. Advice is given in the manual. When your water is the correct temperature a beep alerts you to add grain. Stir in your grain, lock down the top screen (so now there is a screen on the bottom and the top) and start the mash. During the mash wort is constantly recirculated through the grain bed from the bottom up, reverse of most typical systems. The liquid wort flows up through the mash and then cascades down between the mash tub and the outer wall of the Braumeister. There it is collected by the pump and pushed back through the mash. When the mash is complete, another beep will alert you to remove the entire Mash Tub, which sets on top of the Braumeister to drain for a period of time. At this point you can choose to rinse the Mash with hot water or to just add water directly the wort. Push another button and the boil starts. You program the length of the boil. When the boil stops insert your wort chiller and cool.
